Hello, my name is Muriel and I’m the artist behind Big Bold Sea. I have been crafting and drawing since I was little.
In school arts and crafts was always my favorite class. When I had to decide which subject I wanted to specialise in, my choice was very clear and I continued to learn about art and design. I studied art and design history, drawing still lives and the proportions of the human body and designing logos and posters.
For my university studies I chose interior design which happened to be not for me. Studying at the Paulusplatz in Trier still gave me the possibility to find my true passion since in the same building just one floor down they taught communication design.
It was easy to change majors and my creativity truely bloomed. I created some projects in every field and I discovered that I really liked illustration. I did some more illustrations at home and was very lucky to have a successful exhibition in my home town. In July of 2026 I will finish my bachelor but the journey will go on.
